Software Tools for Print and Web BIT-185-70

The goal of the class is to give students a firm grounding in the three major categories of graphic design software using the three major software packages (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign). This course is planned to provide a practical understanding of the knowledge and skills required of fine and applied visual artists in today's digital design studio. Computer lab assignments and lectures will provide diversified experiences for a firm understanding of digital graphic design.

Animation for Electronic Media BIT-190-70

Learn the core principles of animation and how to use these principles to create animations for electronic presentations and web pages. Topics such as basic drawing, single frame and flip book animation styles, story boarding and composition will all be covered. Using Macromedia Flash and Microsoft PowerPoint, students will learn how to add motion to their presentations and web sites by creating animations with sound, buttons, and actions.

Basics of Web Site Creation BIT-173-70

Learn the basics of designing and creating a web page using basic and advanced HTML techniques. Create dynamic graphics for both print materials and the World Wide Web. Graphics design and image creation using popular applications software will be emphasized.

Designing Effective Web Pages BIT-182-70

What makes a well designed web site? Today's business is expected to have Web presence and people's expectations of Web site design change daily as the technologies evolve. Principles of good user interface design will be discussed and illustrated in the context of the World Wide Web and HTML documents. Page layout, navigation, aesthetics, color, fonts, readability, graphics, multimedia, and animations are just some of the topics that will be covered. This class is intended for any level designer/developer of World Wide Web sites. A good understanding of HTML is required.

Web Graphics BIT-173-71

Learn to create dynamic graphics for both print materials and the world wide web. Graphics design and image creation using popular applications software will be emphasized.

Electronic Page Layout: Using QuarkXpress BIT-245-70

Use this powerful page layout program to integrate text and graphics in single and multiple page documents on an IBM compatible personal computer running under Windows. In the process you will also understand how the electronic print process works and how QuarkXpress integrates into the printing process.
